How to Know It’s Time for Memory Care
Recognizing the signs that a loved one may need memory care can be challenging. However, being aware of certain warning signs can make the process less daunting.
If you’re noticing your loved one’s quality of life is being affected, it’ll be worth your time to consider how a memory care neighborhood can support them. It’s about providing safety, comfort, and familiarity in their life, and we can help every step of the way.

Recognize the Warning Signs
Identifying the need for memory care often starts by noticing subtle changes in your loved one’s behavior or lifestyle. Some common signs include:
Social Isolation
If your loved one is avoiding social interactions or minimizing contact with friends and family, it might indicate potential issues. Social interaction is vital for maintaining a high quality of life.
Memory Struggles
Struggling with short-term memory, like forgetting dates or appointments, could be a sign of a cognitive impairment such as dementia or Alzheimer’s. Other symptoms can include confusion during routine tasks.
Frequent Falls or Injuries
Unexplained injuries could be a sign of mobility issues or falls. It’s important to observe if your loved one is trying to conceal any injuries.
Poor Hygiene or Housekeeping
Neglected cleanliness or personal hygiene can be a significant sign of declining physical ability or cognitive impairment.
Weight Fluctuation
Significant weight changes can indicate various issues like depression, cognitive impairments, physical impairments, poor medication management, or an unhealthy diet.

Testimonials
My mother lives at the community and the people are wonderful there. The price is definitely fair and I know that for a fact. Management is very understanding, listen and work with me. Residents do puzzles or design things and there is also always a staff member with them at activities, which is really impressive. The apartment is kept spotless and the place is maintained well. The care staff is wonderful, monitor everything and watch the residents. Overall, I love the staff and I love the place.

I truly think it’s an incredibly challenging job and it’s emotional for the families as well. It’s hard, but the folks are lovely there, so I honestly cannot be more thankful than I am. I am so thankful for the staff there and how well they care for my dad. They are incredibly good at taking care of my dad and I truly wish he didn’t have these issues, but he is in a good place.

My husband lives at the community and he is very relaxed there. The care staff keep him clean and they care for him as best as they can. The Director is lovely and great. The food is fresh and prepared on the premises. They send out a monthly activity sheet and they do things he enjoys. The apartment always looks clean and his clothes come back in good condition. The building definitely looks well maintained and nice. Overall, he feels safe and comfortable living there.

My father lives at the community and I already told my daughter that if I ever need a place, it’d be this one. They provide dad with great care and his physical appearance shows it. The Director doesn’t hesitate to communicate, she is friendly and she gives us the comfort we need to know that dad is taken care of. They have different options at dining and the wait staff is spectacular. The activities are appropriate, fun and connective. The housekeeping and laundry services are off the charts in that the closet is pristine, clothes are folded and any time we’ve been there, no matter day of the week or time of the day, the apartment is always spotless. Overall, he is always happy, they have security protocols, the people treat him with respect, and I can’t even put a price on that.
